Ancient dense drainage system in the Thaumasia region of Mars. A hydrothermal origin was proposed to explain the unusual density of tributaries of this isolated drainage system compared to the average density of Martian channels. The fact that this system is isolated goes against the hypothesis of runoffs formed from rainfalls.
